Products & Color.

When it comes to our hair care products we like to keep things clean, natural, & non-toxic.

What does “clean” mean?

The criteria that classifies a product as being “clean” can vary drastically depending on a person or company’s values, ingredient knowledge, and health/environmental concerns. Generally speaking though clean hair care refers to products made without the use of health compromising ingredients; whether it be the health of our hair, our bodies, or our planet.

Our version of clean.

At Badlands, we’re pretty darn picky about which hair care products are allowed in our studio. Each line has been carefully vetted to make sure it’s free from: sulphates, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colorants, and silicones.

In addition all of our brands are cruelty free, crafted in the United States, use sustainably sourced ingredients, and environmentally conscious packaging.

Brands we carry.

We prefer supporting small indie brands (committed to making cleaner, non-toxic, & eco-conscious products) rather than big mainstream lines found in most commercial hair salons. These brands include: Innersense, Cult + King, Reverie, Good Ass Hair Day, and Hui Hui.

DIY refill station.

Out of your favorite shampoo & conditioner? No problem. Pop into the studio and refill your Innersense shampoo & conditioner at our DIY Refill Station. Save plastic AND money. Refills are priced by the ounce.

Color.

Original & Mineral (O&M for short), is the color line we use at the studio. This Australian based brand is free from Ammonia, PPD and Resorcinol, the three main ingredients typically involved in causing skin irritation.
